Changing Directions

October 28th 2025

Small update, felt like my site hasn't been following up to what I created it for.

INDEX

• Removed "Visitor Center" (Guestbook).
• Condensed listing for links in "Starport" for other sites.
• Changed all link names in the district sidebar to normal to make it easier to navigate.

I've seen some stuff about how most guestbooks are just randomly placed by webmasters to feel more like the "old indie web" and it made me realize that I was just following what other sites were doing to fit in. Unsure if I want to keep the chatbox in the sidebar, it looks alright for now. I don't want to get rid of every piece of interaction from the site.

The "Starport" had a "Federation" member list that was supposed to be a way to show sites that mutually shared buttons with this site, while also following in with this site's theme/lore. It feels kinda awkward having it since no one ever notifies me when they link my button and the ones that were on that list were found by me browsing around. It simply failed it's purpose and will be tossed out, I'll still have the link page to add in cool sites that I find.

I tried (and failed) to make the link names based off of places that would be in the Conservatory, but it feels too confusing and cringe so I'll just use simpler names for site links. Only exception is the "Creative District" which is the menu on the top of the page. Another exception will be for the "Verpon" pages.

I was beginning to hate the site, but I think I hated it because I felt like no one was looking at it. Next year I want to focus on making more stuff for the site and not care too much about viewer counts or site interactions. This is my own space that I created so it shouldn't matter who is visiting as long as I'm doing this for myself.

Next few updates should revolve around adding more art and some more adjustments to current pages.

An End to a Hiatus (Hopefully)

Last update was all the way back in January, I'm not all the way back into the groove but I did want to do some refreshing on the site's appearance as well as clean up some of the code before the year ends.

OBSERVATORY

• Simplified colors and layout to make it easier to read.

INDEX

• NEW ZONE: The gates to Verpon is arriving, this planet is the heart of the Kaleido Conservatory and is by far the most diverse in the empire.
• The Workshop has been added. A new page dedicated to listing various resources from webcrafting to fun little sites.
• Updated a few link names to match the district theme. "Specifications" is now "Construction Yard" and "Database" is now "Memory Bay".

Verpon is where I seperate my art and my personal interests. I plan on making different "buildings" for various subjects I feel like documenting and sharing. This will be another large project that might take a long time for me to find a style for, but I'm excited to make a piece of the site something more personal and a way for me to express myself to visitors!

The previous link names carried over from the older version of the site and I forgot to change them to match the new layout. I've been struggling to figure out names for the worldbuilding aspect of the site, the links in the sidebar are still open to change once I start writing more.

Preparing For More Additions!

January 16th 2025

Small fixes to the site, as well as some new graphics being added.

INDEX

• CHANGES: After shifting my webrings/directory sidebar over to the left, I had an empty spot that needed to be filled. I figured this is the best spot for my "Verpon" landing minisite. The sidebar graphic for Verpon is now located under "Districts".
• Modified "Featured Works" so that it now displays a carousel gallery. Each image is linked to it's source in CH-ROM for better viewing.
• Small fixes to "Latest Lab Entry", changes in opacity when hovered. Now links to current blog entry in the Lab.
• Removed "Tabbyads" from left sidebar. Credits have been updated to reflect this.

Small Update

January 12th, 2025

Minor update, going to share some plans I had for the next one.

INDEX

• NEW WEBRING! Found a super cool webring that I thought was perfect for the site over at Galactic Webring
• Due to the webring being quite large, I moved my "Directories" section to the left. I will find a way to occupy that old spot. It may be the new spot for "Verpon Landing".
• Updated "Latest Lab Entry" section. Forgot to add the thumbnail after I opened up the lab page.

I want to start adding more to the index page and balance out the sidebars since I feel like I don't have enough stuff to look at. I don't want to resort to using nothing but widgets, I actually would like to put some lore or graphics that pertain to the site. Verpon Landing will be drawn sometime this month if I can figure out which side works best.
