H.U.E Labs Now In Operation!

January 5th, 2025

This update was a bit late, had lots of small tweaks that only got larger as I worked on them. I was also feeling a little discouraged. But now that it's a whole new year, I'm looking forward to pushing out more updates, and hopefully getting back into art.

INDEX

• Removed IFrame from middle column of the site, replaced with JS to fetch pages.
• Removed 'Righteous' and 'Xolonium' fonts and added 'Hyperjump' to replace certain subtexts. This is to keep the site from looking like an eyesore from all the different conflicting font types.
• H2 headers now have cool little backgrounds to add to the theme!
• NEW WEBRING! Added 'GalleryRing' to Directory.
• Due to growing list of clubs and webrings, I changed the Directories sidebar to scroll. Not the most elegant fix but it'll do.

A slight rework of the main site, again... I don't think I'll be redoing it for the next few updates, other than to add more pages and content, of course.

LABORATORY

• NEW PAGE: H.U.E LABS.
• This functions as a blog for my WIPs (works in progress). If you would like to see the process for my work and see images of stuff being made, here is where you'll find entries as well as my queue list for what will be made next.
• Other new pages along the lab: 'Archive', 'Projects', and 'Prototypes'. These pages will be bare as I start adding more artwork, but they'll contain all entries and images.
• There is a XML file that can be added into the feed reader of your choice.

Finally, finished the page I was looking forward to making since I completed CH-ROM. This will hopefully be the main blog I use for the site since this is an art oriented website. I think I mentioned focusing on actually making more art after this page was made so future site updates may be delayed after this one.

Page Rehauls, Polls, and General Housekeeping

Happy Thanksgiving! Finally got around to doing some page rehauls and opening up a blog for the site's changelog.

CH-ROM

• Refined CH-ROM layout, removed javascript to make art gallery static.
• Improved responsiveness. Not completely mobile friendly, but pages scale somewhat for smaller viewports.
• Added titles and descriptions to all artwork, as well as additional information regarding to when the art was made and the medium.
• Fixed folder directory for where the files for CH-ROM are. You may need to hard refresh to see the gallery.

I shouldn't have to revisit CH-ROM again. I do see some things that need to be fixed, but this is a huge improvement from the last update. Below is what it used to look like when I first started getting into HTML/CSS.

OBSERVATORY

• NEW PAGE: Changelog/Observatory
• Basic updates will still be found on the home page, with in depth descriptions here.
• RSS feed is available for those who would like to be kept up to date on site changes/news.

Slight revision: I'm writing this from my newest update (VER. 1.5.2025) and as of now, the changelog has moved away from being an entirely separate blog to being part of the index page. This is to keep site maintenance down since I don't feel like chasing down numerous site layouts and it'll make it easier for me to update. So far, the changelog is nearly tied with CH-ROM with the amount of rehauls done to it.

OTHER ADDITIONS

• MORE NEW PAGES: Guestbook, and sitemap (District Zoning) are now available.
• POLLS: I will start doing little "surveys" to help with creating plush ideas. I like gathering feedback and making what you guys would enjoy seeing. Current poll is what the next balloon animal plush should be. The first plush balloon animal I have made is these balloon dogs.
• Small cosmetic changes such as page headers being swapped to text shadows, since webkit text stroke was not compatible with several browsers (also the neon glow looks cooler).

Wrapping this update up, did lots of redoing and hopefully learned new ways to design the site. There's lots of cosmetic changes planned!
